Afya Bora Community Engagement Event

The Afya Bora Community Engagement Event is an annual celebration centered on the meaning of “Afya Bora,” which translates to good health in Swahili. This gathering brings together leaders from various Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)—including partners such as HAKI and OSWWACDC—who are committed to strengthening and empowering the communities they serve.

This event provides a vital platform for:

  • Highlighting essential community services and programs

  • Raising awareness about health and wellness resources

  • Encouraging meaningful dialogue between CBO leaders and community members

  • Celebrating cultural diversity and community unity

By creating space for open engagement and collaboration, the Afya Bora event helps community members better understand the support available to them while also showcasing the ongoing impact of local nonprofit organizations. It reflects a shared commitment to improving well-being, promoting equity, and fostering strong, connected communities.
